Uniforms and Stationery

The College Shop operates under a private contract arrangement with K-12 School Brands and is the supplier of all College uniform items (except footwear). It also sells second-hand uniform items on consignment from parents, as well as stationery and other miscellaneous items.

The College Shop is located on the College grounds. Arranging for purchases well before the College year commences minimises long queues for families and ensures your child is properly equipped. To view opening hours and to order, please log on to the K-12 School Brands website via the College website at this link.

Uniform Requirements

Adherence to a uniform code enables all students to participate in our College community equitably and provides each student with the opportunity to develop their character through their actions and attitudes, removing the pressure for students to project an image that is often influenced by clothing retailers, the media and the fashion of the day.

A uniform ensures that our focus is on developing the real essence of character, not just an image. It eliminates the superficial aspects of growing up, particularly image issues, and allows our focus to be on developing the core of the person. Our College uniform is smart and seeks to unite our students as part of something more than themselves and highlights our identity as a community.

It is an expectation of enrolment in the College that students will present themselves neatly each school day complying with the College’s uniform expectations and that parents and students will support and actively seek to uphold our uniform standards.

Students who wear items that are not in adherence with uniform expectations can expect to have those items confiscated. Students not complying with regulations can expect to be referred to Student Reception to correct the issue or be removed from the playground until the issue is corrected.

All students are expected to wear their full uniform with pride at the College, at official functions, and as they travel to and from the College. Full summer uniform is required during Terms 1 and 4 and winter uniform during Terms 2 and 3. There is a period of transition to winter uniform provided between the commencement of Term 2 until Mother’s Day, and from Father’s Day until the commencement of Term 4 for summer uniform. While optional, during these periods either full summer or full winter uniform must be worn, not a combination of both.

All uniform items are to be clearly labelled regardless of the student’s age.

Appearance

The College seeks to foster an understanding in the importance of personal appearance and all students are expected to wear their full school uniform appropriately and with pride, both at school and in the community.

Grooming Boys are to be cleanly shaven each day and present themselves in clean, pressed uniforms. Boys presenting unshaven will be required to shave at Student Reception.

Hair – General Styles, regardless of gender should be neat, tidy, and not of an extreme nature. Use of hair dyes, streaks and coloured tips are not allowed.

Hair – Girls Hair below shoulder length is to be tied up neatly. Hair accessories are to be in College colours – fancy bows or combs are not permitted. Hair accessories are to be in navy or yellow. Girls are encouraged to use hair accessories that are available for purchase from the College Shop. Multiple braid styles, beads or braid decorations are not acceptable.

Hair – Boys Hair should be ‘short and well groomed’, completely off the collar, not over eyes or tucked behind the ears. Trend styles are not permitted, including mullet, shag styles, etc. No visible shaved patterns are allowed on the scalp.

Piercings & Jewellery Girls may wear one pair of plain silver or gold stud earrings in the earlobe– not sleepers (rings). Clear, plastic studs or earrings in other shapes and styles or with coloured stones, diamonds or pearls are not accepted. Only one earring is permitted in each lobe.
Medical chains or bracelets may be worn. General rings, necklaces, bracelets and other jewellery may not be worn.
There are to be no other piercings or tattoos. Unsanctioned piercings are not permitted to be covered with Band-Aids.

Make Up Students are not to wear make-up.

Nails Nails should be kept short (netball length), natural and conventional – suitable for a school environment. Clear nail polish is permitted (natural looking manicures in Senior School are acceptable at the discretion of the Director of Student Wellbeing). False fingernails are not permitted.

College uniform garments that become worn, damaged, deteriorated, or ill-fitting are to be replaced and shoes are not to be worn with holes in the front or without laces.

Chewing gum is banned at school and on all school activities. While in school uniform, students should not chew gum.
