If you have a concern or problem regarding a student in the College (who is not your own child), the appropriate approach is to speak to your child’s classroom teacher in the first instance. It is not appropriate to approach other students and air grievances. The College will always address concerns and parents should not feel that they have to take matters into their own hands. Children can very easily feel intimidated by the approach of a stranger or even a known adult. While it may not be the intention to upset a child, it is often the way it is received.
Our Wellbeing Policy states:
‘All staff and students at Rouse Hill Anglican College have the right to be treated fairly and with dignity in an environment free from disruption, intimidation, harassment and discrimination. Staff and students have the right to expect the College will be a safe and caring place.’
Student Diaries / Handbooks
A Student Diary or Student Handbook is provided for all students from Kindergarten. The Diary/Handbook is designed to help students keep track of homework details and organise their study time and academic schedule. The Diary/Handbook also provides students with an overview of College procedures and is a useful reference tool. Students are expected to take good care of their Diaries/Handbooks, use them appropriately, access them throughout the school day and have them signed by their parents and Homeroom or class teachers weekly. Lost Diaries/Handbooks incur a replacement cost.
The Newsletter
A Newsletter is published each week and emailed to parents.
The Newsletter is an important form of communication from the College in which details of up-coming events are shared, student achievement is celebrated and topical issues in teaching, learning and adolescence are discussed. Parents can also read about sport results, competitions and upcoming sporting events.
Parents are encouraged to take particular note of the information provided in each publication and should ensure that the College has a record of your most current email address to ensure you receive these publications.
Edumate – the Parent Portal
Initial access to the Edumate Parent Portal is provided by email, giving a username and password. When you access the Portal for the first time you will be asked to change your password to something that you are going to easily remember for future access. Parents are asked to treat their password and access as they would a credit card PIN number.
The Parent Portal provides a fount of information including your child’s timetable, attendance records, assessment notifications, events and academic reports. The Portal is also used to give permission for events, verify absences and set up and monitor your fee account.
Further information about accessing and using the Portal can be found on the Edumate Parent Portal page.
The College App
The Rouse Hill Anglican College app offers a more transportable option to access the majority of information available on the Edumate Parent Portal. The mobile app available to download from GooglePlay or the App Store.
